La carte standard ESC-CI3 fait partie de la logique de sécurité ESC (Electronic Safety Circuit), un système de sécurité assisté par processeur de la famille de contrôleurs KR C2 edition2005.
La carte CI3-Tech a son propre nœud et est nécessaire pour les composants suivants :
- KUKA.RoboTeam (pendant partagé)
- KUKA.SafeRobot
- Passerelle SafetyBus
- Sortie vers l'armoire de rehausse (axes supplémentaires)
- Alimentation en tension d'un 2e RDW via X19A.
- Les états suivants du circuit ESC sont affichés :
- Modes de fonctionnement
- Entraînements Marche
- Arrêt d'urgence local
- Le bouton Reset permet de réinitialiser le circuit ESC
- La carte CI3-Tech ne peut être utilisée qu'avec la carte MFC3-Tech
